This isn't a desk job. You will be hands-on in the field, bridging the gap between sophisticated automation software and heavy underground machinery. Your primary mission is to get the locomotives "up and running" by integrating control systems and ensuring seamless communication with site infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Fault-finding, commissioning, and optimizing PLC and SCADA systems specifically for underground rail assets.
Executing field-based automation tasks to ensure locomotive reliability and performance.
Collaborating with the Asset Integrity team to meet strict project milestones.
Troubleshooting complex integration issues between mobile assets and fixed rail infrastructure.
To be successful in this role, you must be a "field-first" specialist who thrives in underground environments.
Technical Expertise: Deep working knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems.
Industry Experience: Proven background in Locomotive or Heavy Rail systems is mandatory.
Field Experience: Substantial experience in automation commissioning within a mining or heavy industrial setting.
Project Mindset: Ability to work autonomously on a 6-month intensive contract to deliver operational readiness.
Safety Leadership: A rigid commitment to underground safety protocols and risk management.
Elite Roster: The highly sought-after 8:6 roster providing a genuine work-life balance.
Competitive Pay: We are offering excellent remuneration packages for candidates who possess this specific niche skill set.
Prestige: Work with a top-tier mining house on a flagship asset integrity project.
Relevant Tertiary or Trade qualifications (Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics).
Full Australian Working Rights.
Ability to pass a category 1 or 2 rail medical and underground functional.
